Challenge:
CARD’s current website has outdated branding, “mystery meat”/inconsistent navigation, long load time, and a high drop off rate. Each page or section of the site was owned by different individuals creating redundant content and often an unclear user experience.
Process:
Assessment of current website with site map, content audit, analytics report with 2 years of data. Definition of content owners per section and interview meetings with each.
Development team leadership by defining roles, task assignments and keeping project documentation plus having weekly status updates. Define project goals, audiences, and technical needs. Do card sorting exercises with development team to create clarity in content and navigation. Set structure map, design navigation interface and sketch out wireframes per page.
Have follow up meetings with content owners to approve “new” content structure and setting deadlines for any copy needed from them. Rapid prototype pages as content and layout is approved; from sketch wireframe to clickable prototype.
Solution:
Organize and filter current content, update and include new content as needed. Design new UI that is responsive and provide a community section and an educational section.
Verifying:
Design and code MVP navigation interface prototype to test internally within development team.
